Dysentery

Sébastien Scheidecker recommended using huckleberry with gum arabic.
J.F. Oberlin recommended arnica, which has astringent and antiseptic properties. The root is reduced to a powder before being administered.
During the epidemic of 1793, Sébastien Scheidecker successfully composed a remedy himself. It was an infusion decoction, with:
– three pinches of: blossoms of acacia, red poppy, sloe bush, sorrel root
– two pinches of: maiden hair, European polypody and common elder
– one pinch of: blossoms of chamomile, dodder, white roses and sweet violet

Caution: these remedies are not medical prescriptions and may be dangerous.
